Microsoft Visual Studio Code Samples

Most of the code samples below are zipped, downloadable files that include a short Readme.txt file with further instructions for building and running the sample. The instructions assume that you are using Microsoft® Visual Basic® (version 5.0 or higher), Microsoft Visual C++® (version 5.0 or higher), or Microsoft Visual J++, as appropriate.

The header files for programming the Microsoft Agent COM interfaces from Microsoft Visual C++ code can be found with the corresponding C++ code samples.

For information about programming Microsoft Agent with the Microsoft .NET Framework or Visual Studio .NET, there is a separate Web page.




Microsoft Visual Basic code samples

Instructions for installing and running the sample are included in the download. These instructions assume that you are using Microsoft Visual Basic (version 5.0 or higher). You will be instructed to download and install Microsoft Agent and the character data files to build and run the sample.

Illustrates using Microsoft Agent with Visual Basic.
Requires: Agent Core Components, Text-To-Speech Engine, Characters. Level: Basic.

Download Download the Character Animation Preview Tool (CAP) (8 KB zip)
Illustrates how to perform several operations with a character and provides a handy tool for previewing a character's animation.
Requires: Agent Core Components, Characters(.ACS format) Text-To-Speech Engine, Level: Intermediate.

Microsoft Visual C++ code samples and include Files

Instructions for installing and running the sample are included in each download. These instructions assume that you are using Microsoft Visual C++ (version 5.0 or higher). You will be instructed to download and install Microsoft Agent and the character data files to build and run the samples.

Download Download Microsoft Agent Include files (70 KB zip)
These header files define the COM (Component Object Model) interfaces to the Agent Server. You'll need these if you plan to call the Agent Server COM interfaces from a C++ program.
